I Do celebrates the weddings of yesteryear, illuminating Montana's past from the 1860s gold rush to the modern day. The stories contained herein offer a glimpse into the lives of ordinary Montanans--from Finnish homesteaders, Blackfeet students, struggling Butte miners, and Chinese restaurateurs to Métis fiddlers, Jewish merchants, and wealthy capitalists. Through each story, I Do highlights similarities and differences in wedding traditions and shows how those traditions have changed over more than a century.
