His head frozen at death, engineer and entrepreneur Braxton Thorpe awakens to existence inside an electronic matrix. Discovering the global Link System, he taps into databases and expands to become a Tensor Matrixwith access to virtually all human knowledge. He works with Daphne O'Bryan and other researchers, then is joined by an extraordinary non-human partner as he generalizes his existence from Banach Space into a Banach Manifold. Using complex tensors to extend beyond the matrix, he detects a malevolent presence in the Link system, an alien with bad intent.
