This idea of the Apostles and of the whole Church carrying the message of God to the world, as witnesses of its truth, permeates all the Christian documents. It is so in relation to the tremendous out flow of mission spirit on the pentecostal day, following the resur rection. This Jesus, said Peter in his discourse, hath God raise 1 up, [i. E., from the dead] whereof we all are witnesses. (acts Ye [the Jews] denied the Holy One, and killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses. (acts Him [the Christ] hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repent ance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
