Excerpt from Inaugural Ceremonies at the Opening of the New "Pioneer Hall, " Eighth of January, 1863: Inaugural Address, OrationThe band, at intervals, played choice selections, and at the conclusion the Chaplain pronounced the benediction. The whole house was thrown Open, the inaugural ceremonies being held in the spacious front room on the second ¿oor, whichis to be the regular meeting apartment Of the Society. The Society and invited guests, together with the military, adjourned from this room to the basement, where were spread two large tables, covered with the choicest viands and liquids. After the inner man had been satisfied, regular toasts were read and duly res ponded to, and subsequently volunteer sentiments were Offered.
