The present section is the Intermediate and has been compiled chie¿y from the Outlines, and the Shorter Grammar. The arrangement of parts and chapters is, as far as possible, the same as that adopted in the Junior Grammar. The Historical Introduction has been almost entirely rewritten. The Exercises do not form a separate dmsxon as in the original Grammars, but are appended to the chapters to which they severally belong.
