Joseph, of London, published, under the title Religion, Natural and Revealed: A Series of Progressive Lessons for Jewish Youth, an instructive guide-book of the tenets and principles of the Jewish Faith. Its popularity has been so well sustained-in England that the present publishers, who have long been in quest of an adequate presentation of the teachings of Judaism for young readers, de cided to reissue the book with such changes and mod ifications as were deemed necessary. Accordingly, the editor, to whom the delicate task of revision and adaptation was intrusted, undertook to prepare, for young American readers, an abridgment of the original work, which still remains, despite the rather voluminous literature on the subject, the only text-book in English fit to be placed in the hands of students.
