Though retired from being actively involved with football 17 years ago, Frank remains an ardent fan. He was an Essex qualified Referee for 42 years. Retiring at the age of 72. Hardly missing a weekend. Reverently applying Football's laws he had sworn to uphold. No matter the age of players. He loved what he did. For 42 years he did it well.

Just one of the one hundred of that season's one hundred and fifty Essex referees who qualifed that year. Frank hopes his 14 year old Grand Daughter, Millie, a newly qualified this year's referee, is determined it won't.
