The Jolan: Flight from Tyranny is a factual presentation of a Hungarian family fleeing the tyranny of Communist Russia during the revolution of 1956. The story was presented to Richard Baran, author by Jola¿n Marko (Yolanda Martin). At the time of her flight, she was Jola¿n Marko, age eleven. These events happened to Yolanda and her family starting in 1956. The family members include her father, Bela Marko, mother Piroska, brother La¿szlo, members of the Nagy family (her mother's relatives) and other Marko family members.
