J. Atwood Taylor, III was educated in the public schools of Florida. He earned an undergraduate degree at Furman University and a law degree at the University of Florida. He has practiced law since 1986 and began his practice in
Miami. He currently resides in Vero Beach. He is married, and he and his wife have three adult daughters. His two female Cavalier King Charles spaniels, however, command most of his attention. He is the author of two other novels.
