Bhagat Singh fought for the freedom of the whole country because there is nothing called as individual freedom. This was not really a social or political initiative. It was not just resentment or revolution against any barbaric, foreign rule. Originally, it was a campaign of spiritual liberation. A liberation in which you say, "My body is not worth much. I am twenty-three years old, if I am hanged, how does it matter? I have not identified with the body anyway. I have now identified myself with something higher than myself." In Bhagat Singh's case that higher entity was India. He had studied all the literature around the world, especially contemporary revolutionary literature. He had an inclination towards socialism and communism. Bhagat Singh's revolution was a slogan of deep realization, and that realization, I am saying, was originally spiritual.
