Lázaro was born in Salamanca, located on the side of the Tormes river. He was very poor and since he was a child had to look for the life itself. He didn't live in a happy world, but was smart and clever, and managed to get ahead. Like that Lazarillo de Tormes returns, in an autobiographical form, the adventures of a boy whose poverty forces him to put himself at the service of several masters and sharpen his wits so as not to starve. Without a father, and still very young, his mother gives him to a blind man so that he can accompany him, offer guidance and earn his living.
