Indeed, recent advances are in many cases but corroborations Of Thudichum's wonderful experimental work. That the brilliant investiga tions of this Observer should have been so long neglected and despised is an anomaly which perhaps was in some measure due to Thudichum's more or less obscure literary style, his pugnacity towards his opponents may also have contributed to produce this result.
