Charles Dickens is considered to be one of the greatest British writers of all times. He was a social activist who wrote plays and novels during the Victorian period. William Dorrit, who owes money, lives in debtors prison at Marshalsea with his children Edward, Fanny, and Amy--known as Little Dorrit. Amy falls in love with and marries her middle-aged benefactor.
