Chris Shafer moved to Miami to help his best friend Wes run the construction company. Chris had been Wes' foreman since Wes started the company. After Wes and Sylvia got married, Wes picked up and moved to Miami where Sylvia opened a new boutique. Wes offered him a partnership if he would move to Miami and help him rebuild the company.


Chris accepted because it gives him the chance to really own his own business outside of his family company. His wife Becky wasn't having it. She wanted to stay close to her family and was tired of waiting for Chris to go work for his dad and stop the craziness of wanting to be his own man. This was the last straw for her. She told him she wasn't moving.


Now separated, Chris falls for Sylvia's new Miami boutique store manager, Maggie.
