This book, a fancy of the imagination, is about sight and the lack of sight, it is, a tale of a nightmare, a revelation, and a hope for the future. A sudden catastrophic inability to see, challenges our civilization, the story is fictitious but the frailty of our society, it exposes, is real. How will each one of us respond to such a cataclysmic event? Examples of different responses are told in short story form. Bill, in a heroic effort, tries to salvage the old world. Gerhard attempts to use the disaster for his personal gain. Laura learns, for the first time, to face the reality of life, while the Emperor reawakens to life.
