Marion was a woman of her times. She lived through the privations of the Great Depression and the exciting dangers of World War II, she built the foundations for a remarkable career in London during the Blitz and in Berlin during the Blockade. She was perpetually in the middle of some slice of history or another, as it unfolded around her. She just wanted to live her own life, to provide for herself and her daughter . and somehow, the pursuit of that simple goal always seemed to take her where no woman had gone before.
