Born and raised in the City of London, Martin is devastated when his adored older brother is reported killed in the Second Crusade. Determined his brother Geoffrey cannot be dead, Martin while waiting for an opportunity to follow him to the Holy Land, trains to be a cleric at Oxford. When the Third Crusade is called Martin joins King Richard the Lion Heart, to liberate Jerusalem and to search for his brother.
