Lack Of perseverance and shiftiness of will re sult from bad heredity, bad nutrition, or failure in discipline. The last two conditions it is my purpose to discuss in a later work. In the pres ent volume I shall present the important subjects of Heredity and other prenatal in¿uences.

If the children of to-day are not all that could be desired, and if, indeed, we have caught many of them several generations too late to make the most Of them, so much the more should we hasten - with careful steps - to right the wrongs of those yet unborn.
