In comparison with 1926, the production showed a decrease of tons, but in comparison with 1925, an increase of and with 1924, an increase of As demand in 1926 had been artificially stimulated by the anthracite strike, a decrease in 1927-was anticipated. That the sales of briquets declined only per cent below the level of the strike year at a time when anthracite was in abundant supply is an indication of the progress of the briquetting industry.
