It is not with the thought or desire of achieving literary fame that the accompanying pieces are presented to the public, they were not written with that design, and arc not published with such an object, the shafts of criticism will therefore fail to wound their unambitious author.

Discarding the false and unreasonable puff of many advertising houses, who profess to sell for thirty or fifty per cent, less than any one else, the author adopts this novel and legitimate means of extending his connection by a real bona-fide gift.

Every purchaser at his establishment, to the amount of twenty shillings and upwards, will therefore be entitled to receive one of the accompanying volumes, which as they arc not intended for sale cannot be procured in any other way.
