To do this however, is no part of our present object. To all who admit an over ruling Providence, it must be manifest with respect to this, as with respect to every other evil, that afiliction, cometh not forth of the dust, neither dath trouble spring out of the ground. God's judgment is in the earth, that the inhabitants of the world may learn righteousness. Such the prophet informs us is the design of Divine chastisements generally.
