Motivational Factors of Persons With Disabilities

Disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an interaction between features of a person's body and features of the society in which he or she lives. Like normal people, their identities, personalities and needs are also diversified by their age, gender, education, and the setting they live in.Getting the precise estimate of Persons with Disabilities at the global level is a bit complex, due to limitation on international comparisons. Persons with Disabilities fulfil their motivational needs to be accepted in the society through effective support and help from their families, society, religion, and vocation which enable them to show the right behaviour and encourage the right drive in themselves. This descriptive study is conducted in the Puducherry region of Pondicherry Union Territory.Data were collected from respondents by simple random sampling method using structured interview schedule, which consists of socio economic profile, level of motivation, familial, societal, religious, and vocational factors of motivation of respondents. The data analysis done by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Correlation analysis, t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used.
