To believe than that music expresses thought. The average Englishman does not know when he is thinking. Thought to him means a syllogism, he associates it with Euclid's Geometry, but he forgets that Euclid's Geometry is a mere logic, a mere sequitur of conclusions that follow from premises he forgets, in short, that the innumerable problems and corollaries of Euclid depend upon a few axioms and postulates, that, if he could not imagine a point or a straight line, there could be no such thing as Euclid's Geometry.
