Lissa Morgan, a freelance journalist and writer, feels herself drawn to the past when she travels home from the big city to a small town to say her final goodbyes to her loving dad and help her mom settle down and adjust to life without him.

A past that will take her back to the beginning of the 19th century. It is there that she will cross paths with the family that lived in "The Blocker house", an enchanting rundown two-story southern home now overgrown with vines, dust and "a scent of cinnamon and yeast, like freshly baked cinnamon rolls!"

What Lissa finds there will forever alter her path and change everything she thought she knew about the Blocker home, her hometown, and romance.
