Knowing an author's name one may find, in the Index of Authors, references to all papers that he has published during the year. Where references to a definite subject are sought the Index of Subjects is to be used 'very much as an ordinary book index.In every index, however, there is a personal equation, and if it is desirable to cover the ground very thoroughly it may be best to go over each number of the year and examine the particular heading under which that subject might be mentioned.
