Excerpt from Order of Precedence: With Authorities and Remarks

Treasurer, Lord President of the Council, Lord Privy Seal or Chief Secretary, be under the degree of a Baron of Parliament, by reason whereof they can have no interest to give any assent or dissent in the said House, then they shall be placed at the upper most part of the Sacks in the midst of the said Parliament Cham ber, the one of them above the other, in order as is above rehearsed.

By Sec. 9. It is enacted, That in all trials of Treasons by Peers, if any of the Peers being triers of such Treason, Shall happen to have any of the offices aforesaid, they shall sit and be placed ac cording to their offices in manner abovementioned and rehearsed.
