AMY GARDNER, a young woman who has taken care of herself for most of her life, is on her way to see a cabin she has inherited. Amy is unemployed since the school where she taught music to challenged students downsized. She finds herself in the middle of a tornado warning, the one thing that scares her beyond belief. Not only is she alone and frightened, but she's ill when her car quits and she must walk to the nearest building.After just being told he was adopted, thirty-three year old RODNEY TYLER feels betrayed and goes to his cabin on a stormy night to indulge in self pity. Imagine his shock on opening the door to what he thinks is a branch blown against the door by the fierce wind only to find a young lady, soaked to the skin. He is grouchy and Amy thinks he is a monster, but she has no place to go. Not only is she terrified of the storm, running a fever. In spite of his, he takes care of her. She explains that her car quit while looking for a cabin she inherited through her uncle. He had signed it over to her years before, but they had never seen it. When she finally sees thee cabin, she finds a mansion. Life becomes suddenly interesting and she and meets colorful characters who will help in her to decide what to do with such a mansion.
