These outline-lectures are mere summaries of what was much amplified when presented orally. It cannot be pretended that they furnish a full and adequate discussion of the topics treated. Each lecture contains simply the notes of an hour's discourse. The work is intended as a first book in law and a general introduction to the whole body of American jurisprudence. The principal object of the author has been to present the subject in a way calculated to attract the attention of the reader and whet the appetite for more.
