Selby, as to What Parish Registers had been printed. It is almost needless to say that this list might be much extended, especially were indexes to the ms. Collections of Genealogical Antiquaries remaining in the British Museum and other public libraries to any appreciable extent contributed to it. As it stands it is, I believe, the only attempt which has been made to arrange in alphabetical order a list of Registers and Register Extracts which are readily available for the use of genealogists, and which, in many cases, may save them the trouble of making an original search, or a tedious and expensive journey to some country parish.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
