Piano Music of the Czech Romantics is an anthology of forty compositionsfor piano by eighteen composers representing two centuries of Czech musical history.Drawing upon well-known composers -- Smetana, Dvor k, Jan cek, and Martinu -- toones lesser known -- Benda, Fibich, and Suk -- these examples, many of them out ofprint, are accompanied by biographical information, analyses, interpretivesuggestions for each piece, as well as listings of recommended repertoire, editions, recordings, and source material for each composer. An attached CD of sixteen of thepieces in the anthology, recorded by Dr. Yeomans, is also included.
