Imogen, a beautiful, bright young woman, works to escape her squalid hippy childhood by inventing a roulette formula, which takes her to glamorous Monte Carlo. Amazingly, she wins over a million euros at the famous casino, and gets spotted by the handsome Marquis Guy de Lassart, who sweeps her off her feet with his charm and seductive powers. They marry and settle into a beautiful flat overlooking Monte Carlo Beach, but Imogen's happiness is short-lived, as she begins to suspect that Guy never loved her and only married her to escape his debts. She doesn't realise that Guy and his evil mother, La Marquise Ysolda de Lassart, are deeply in hock to the dangerous Camorra, the Corsican Mafia. Imogen then discovers she is pregnant and finds herself imprisoned in a creepy, crumbling, mountain-top chateau by the jealous Ysolda.
