INTRODUCTION:


The purpose of this research study undertaken is to find out, to what extent women are politically
conscious, in performing their political duty, in actual practice exercising their right to vote in
municipal, local and national elections, which are taking place periodically. Five hundred women
voters, spread over in small and big villages in Basmat agar Taluka, have


been interviewed for this purpose. The detailed analysis of the same in forms of tables etc. and
the conclusions drawn are dealt with in Part II and Part III.
