In this age of globalization, it is important to understand the standards and frameworks used around the world. While the US relies mostly on CMMI-based process improvement for systems and software engineering, much of the rest of the world emphasizes ISO standards. Aimed at practitioners who want to use multiple standards, Process Improvement with CMMI v1.2 and ISO Standards describes several frameworks and explains the salient features of each standard. This text presents process improvement fundamentals and discusses the changes made from CMMI v.1.1 to CMMI v.1.2. It also introduces process mapping, illustrating how mappings can be used to advantage when comparing different frameworks.
