Protest Against Agnosticism

Excerpt from Protest Against Agnosticism: The Rationale Philosophy of Belief

The content of consciousness is thus seen to be the sense of Being, or feeling, the sense of relativity of Being, or of the identity of cause and effect, and the sense of the tendency of Being, or of spontaneous self determination in action, whilst the function of con sciousness is the recognition or perception of similare, the apprehension of causative relations, and the com prehension of purpose in others through intuition of the good for Being. Thus only through the develop ment of self-consciousness is the evolution of the human spirit accomplished, the law of its evolution being the fulfilment or realisation of the re¿ective Ideals of Truth to Being, harmony with Being, and Goodness, or action beneficent to Being.
