Excerpt from Public Papers of Charles E. Hughes, Governor, 1907

Whereas, It is provided by the laws Of this State, that in such a case special election shall be had, Now, therefore, I, Charles E. Hughes, Governor Of the State of New York, in pursuance Of the requirements Of sec tion 4 Of the Election Law, do hereby order and proclaim. That an election for Member Of Assembly in the place Of the said William J. Donohue, be held in the Fourteenth Assembly District Of the county Of Kings, on Tuesday, the 12th day Of March, 1907, such election to be conducted in the mode prescribed by law, for the election Of Members Of Assembly.
