There is little interesting to be related of any of the persons with whom we have lately been in company for several weeks, except indeed, perhaps, of Miss Constance Darnell, who not only permitted, but encouraged Mr George Elliot's attentions, and perhaps this young lady's general progress had been considerably accelerated by her visit to London. The recent outbreak of Sir Geoffrey against Ralph was not followed, as in the case of that with Mr Smithson, by placability.
