P., On Statements Recently Made in Parliament, on the Public Records of IrelandIn March, 1863, I published, under the title of Record Revelations, a Letter to the Treasury, advocating the adoption of measures to aggregate, calendar, and render accessible, for legal and historical purposes, the long neglected Public Records Of Ireland and, in exempli fication of some of the evils resulting from the present Obscure state Of these muniments, I analysed two volumes, produced in 1861 and 1862, at considerable public ex pense, entitled Calendars of the Patent and Close Rolls Of Chancery in Ireland, of the reigns of Henry VIII. Edward VI.
