Excerpt from Register of the Charlestown Schools, 1847-1873: PupilsThe Committee on the printing of this partial List of the Pupils who attended the Schools of the City of Charlestown from 1847 to 1873 presents this Register to the members of the Old Charlestown School Boys Association only, in honour of those of our schoolmates and teachers who are now living, and in memory of those who are no longer with us.The Compiler began the work of collecting these names at the time of the Get Together held on the Bunker Hill Monument Grounds in June, 1914, using only such of the School Records as were to be found at that time in the posses sion of the teachers of the Grammar Schools. In every school it was discovered that some or all of the old Records had been either lost, mislaid or destroyed, which made it impossible to present a complete record of many pupils: three years of diligent research work, however, has enabled him to recover many names and dates, and these have helped, materially, toward accomplishing the result here presented.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
