A drunken Jackson Montgomery falls victim to amnesia after being struck by Amanda Darlington's carriage. Feeling guilty for the accident, Amanda takes the confused Jack with her to nurse his wounds. When Jack's memory returns, he realizes that not only was he to have been married and that he has stood up his bride, but he has fallen in love with Amanda.
