"Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you."

1 Corinthians xi: 1-2.

"Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you."

What is ordinarily termed close communion, has for years excited no little attention in the religious world. By many, it has been regarded as having its rise in bigotry, and on this account has been the occasion of much reproach to our churches.
