I. - Él día 16 de Noviembre de 1748 salió de la ciudad de Que retato con dirección á estas tierras el Señor Coronel Don José de Escandon, al frente de 755 soldados y cerca de 2, 51 5 colonos, desti nados á la nueva Provincia que con estas regiones se iba á formar para agregarle á las de Nueva España.
