When I was eight years old, my mother took me to the closest beach
in our hometown of North Carolina and the surfers there enamored
me. The way they rode the waves so gracefully on their boards. killing
them to pull off different tricks that didn't seem possible to my inexperienced
eyes. Thirteen years later, that pivotal moment in time has
led me to being a professional surfer.
