Saving Sand, Memories of a Prairie Culture, is a storycycle, almost a novel, and written in the form of connected short stories, several of which have appeared in literary journals. The book follows my family from Jan 1934 when we moved to Olton in the Texas panhandle to Feb 1942, when the family left the farm to seek work in the shipyards in California.
