Second Session of Sixth Legislature of the Province of Ontario, Session 1888The use of Canada ashes has of late steadily increased, and the cost gradually declined to 24 to 25 cents per bushel of 45 to 50 lbs. These are prices by the carload at Amherst and its vicinity. This is from the Massachusetts Experimental Station bulle tin issued J annary, 1887. The prices in the Eastern States are based upon chemical analysis, 6 per cent. Of potash and 15 or 2 per cent. Phosphoric acid being the standard.
