The State, 1ed to the study of predaceous insects and the introduction of the Vedalia cardinalis, the wonderful work of which has become known the world over. Since then, it has been the effort of this Board to discover and introduce new parasitic and predaceous insects, to reestablish the natural checks, and to stop as soon as possible the costly and disagreeable system of fumigating and spraying. As stated above, all our most destructive insects are introduced species which in their native lands are kept in check by their natural enemies.
