Excerpt from Silver Coinage: Speech of Hon. John H. Mitchell, of Oregon, in the Senate of the United States, Wednesday, January 29, 1890

Mr. Mitchell. I move that the Senate proceed to the consider ation of the bill (s. 58) for the free coinage oi silver, and other pur poses.

The vice-president. The Chair lays the bill before the Senate, pursuant to the notice heretofore given by the Senator from Oregon.

Mr. Mitchell. I ask that the bill be read at length. It 18 very short.
