ack Morrison, investigative reporter, is writing a biography of the late Peyton Bonner, a wealthy oil man and philanthropist. Questions arise about Lindy's real identity. The real Lindy Bonner was left at a Texas orphanage following the death of her parents. When she reappears fourteen years later at age twenty-one to claim her inheritance, everyone is suspicious of her identity and her motives.
