Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Rodney Stone

Arthur Conan Doyle has won many hearts with his most famous detective series, Sherlock Holmes. However, few people know that besides the book series about a smart-talking consulting detective, Doyle has also shown keen interest in other genres such as as- adventure, sci-fi, mystery and fantasy. Arthur Doyle's novels and short stories are such timeless entities that are praised by readers even centuries later. Rodney Stone is an extremely entertaining historical fiction set early in the Regency period of Britain.. Rodney Stone is the son of a Naval Man for the Nelson's Navy who spent most of his married years fighting off the menace ensued by Napoleon Bonaparte throughout the continent. Rodney was thus raised by his mother.. He is then adopted by his uncle Sir Charles Tregellis, a wealthy gentleman but a high-rolling gambler as well. Tregellis attempts to transform Rodney into a well-mannered London gentleman, but Rodney doesn't want that.. He is still stuck up with his lifelong friend Jim, who is the son of the former Bare Knuckles Prize-Fighting Champion of England now working as a lowly blacksmith.. Tregellis attempts his best to steer Rodney away from Jim and Bare-Knuckle Boxing and that Jim is too low beneath for them to be associated with.. Rodney Stone also contains interesting cameos from real-life historical dignitaries such as Lady Emma Hamilton, Horatio Nelson, Beau Brummell, Sheridan Fox and even George IV (Prince Regent ). It has a variety of genres and themes, from a coming of age story about Rodney and Jim to Gothic Mystery, with a lot of hard-hitting bare-knuckles boxing action in the mix. Thrilling, moving, suspenseful and exciting, along with the mysterious elements that Sir Arthur is so well known for.The book is a paperback book with well-arranged illustrations and optimized for a relaxed and enjoyable reading experience. Happy Reading!
