Excerpt from SleightsThe performer standing two or three feet from his spectators (or even among them) plainly exhibits each card on both sides and has his hands thoroughly examined, there being no rings on his fingers. The cards are then placed on his right palm and arranged in the form of a star, as in illustration No. 1.
