A family is shipwrecked on an island and must quickly adapt in order to survive their new surroundings. The Swiss Family Robinson, by Johann David Wyss is greatly influenced by another adventure novel, Robinson Crusoe. Wyss’ story specifically targets young readers and highlights the importance of family, faith and self-sufficiency.
